Club news 10/12

Bridport’s County Mixed League side had a fine 81.77 overall win against Bournemouth, thanks mainly to Mel Hargett, Phil Tattershall, Laura Taylor and Sue Walsh crushing their opponents 31.12 at home. Sharon Heath, Anne Parkins, Roy Nicoll and Keith Jenkins the other winning home rink 15.14. At Bournemouth Mike Craddock, Erica Sarson Barbara Jenkins and Peter Hunt and Rosie and Martin Wilton, David Aylott and Gill Hunt lost 22.23, 13.28 respectively.

Bridport Men lost all four rinks in their latest Wessex League match 59.93 against the Dolphin (Poole)’s second string.  John Boxall, Mike Higman, Ken Sanger and Bob Taylor going closest to picking up two points, going down 18.21.

In the County Over 60’s league Bridport A stay on course for picking up the Trophy, after claiming five of the six points away to Dorchester A team.  Barry Mapson, Chris Everest and Mike Fletcher winning 17.11, Martin Wilton, Paul Hallett and Phil Hedges drawing 16.16.

Bridport B had lost their two previous home games by just single figure totals but their luck finally changed as they thumped Dorchester B 48.20.  Brian Legg, Bob Hill and Roger Cowmeadow finished with a four count to win 25.10, Brian Baker, Huw Rees and Peter Scott finishing with a five count for a 23.10 win.

Joan Griffiths, Anne Parkins, Barbara Jenkins and Sheila Nicol finished 1.4.3 for a 22.21 win to pick up two points for Bridport B away to Dolphin C in the County League.  Dolphin taking the four extra points for overall win.
