Bridport Mens team went down on all four rinks against East Dorset in their latest Wessex League match. Mike Cash, Mike Higman, Ken Sanger and Stephen Grier were ahead after fifteen ends before going down 18.21, and Roy Nicoll, Mel Griffiths, Martin Grier and Brian Rumble were ahead at Christchurch before losing 15-18. Barry Mapson, Chris Thorner, Brian Suffling and Phil Hedges and Mel Hargett, David Jenkin, Ken Giles and Bob Taylor were comprehensively beaten. Giving East Dorset the 16 points available.
In the County Mixed League, Sharon Heath, Gerry Moss, Barbara Jenkins and Mike Fletcher had a fine 29.16 win at Dorchester for two points. Pat Cowmeadow, Erica Sarson, Roger Cowmeadow and Martin Wilton drawing 23.23 at home for a point. Dorchester picking up the extra points for overall win as Mike Craddock, Anne Parkins, Gill Hunt and Keith Jenkins and Rosie Wilton, Brian Medland, Laura Taylor and Peter Hunt were well beaten.
Chas Clarke, Mike Long and Brian Rumble picked up two points in the Purbeck Trophy League at Dorchester, snatching the win with a five count on the final end.
In the County Over 60’s league the A team were again beaten on both rinks at home and will now struggle to make the play offs. John Boxall, Keven Rendell and Bob Hill almost pulled off the shock of the season away to runaway leaders Dolphin for the B team. All square with one end left they were holding five shots before their opponents sliced the jack to their wood to win by one.
